During a lunch break, I discovered these beautiful avocets feeding off a beach that lies in the shadow of the San Mateo bridge, apropos of which, after work, I connected with my old friend Dave, who took me to his new San Mateo home and introduced me to his girlfriend Becky, who was working on her blog beneath my painting of the Barrel Bridge. I know I've seen an avocet before, but I can't remember when, these were close up and personal. The painting--I had completely forgotten it, remembering only a smeary first version of the vision.

Is it me, or is it my vision?

- My first memory is of losing my glasses. Had they not been found, folded carefully on the top edge of the sea wall, where would we be today?
